Atomic Tattoo's "Tats for Tatas" Raises Money for Breast Cancer Research

The folks over at Atomic Tattoos are hoping that the work they do saves lives.

During the month of October, the Tampa Bay-based company will be taking 10% of all sales from their 13 studios and donating it to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. Also as part of the fundraising drive they're calling "Tats for Tatas," each studio will be selling limited-edition Pink Ribbon tattoos for $50, as well as $15 pink body jewelry. All tattoo sessions of $100 or more will also be discounted by $50 and everyone participating will also receive a $25 gift certificate toward future work.

RudeTV Goes on Hiatus

In a move engineered to both cut costs and reformat their existing broadcast schedule, RudeTV has announced plans to temporarily close their studio doors with tentative plans for re-launch in the near future.

“Due to the current financial climate, we, not unlike many other companies, are looking for ways to trim our budget while still continuing to provide quality programming to our loyal RudeTV fan community. Unfortunately, at this time that plan must include temporarily ceasing studio operations”, says RudeTV’s Marketing Director, Chandie Foster.

“We are looking forward to developing a new format for the site to provide the community and the performers an exciting new direction that we will be moving towards in the future.”

According to Foster, RudeTV.com will remain online and all archived shows will still be available for viewing. All affiliate links for RudeTV.com will redirect to our flagship website Rude.com and no affiliates will lose credit or earnings during the transition. Details on the re-launch date were not immediately available.

Among the shows on RudeTV was "Ink Addicts" on Monday nights, hosted by Baadmaster and MyTattooGirl Regan Reese. In the last year, Sacha Libido, Tabitha James and Kitten have all made appearances on the show, which can be seen in the archives at RudeTV.com, as noted by Foster.

MyTattooGirls Hits Tattoo Hollywood

After missing out on the last couple of local tattoo conventions due to prior commitments, we made sure to hit Tattoo Hollywood this past weekend at the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel.

Along with plenty of tattooing and piercing going on throughout the convention hall, there was a seminar presented by artist Shawn Barber and more than 30 contests from Friday through the end of the day Sunday, with winners for Tattoo of the Day receiving machines from Lucky Supply.

The pre-show festivities opened with an art show featuring the work of Bob Roberts titled, "Alive: The Chosen Views of Bob Roberts," which was held at Canvas L.A.

All-in-all, the attendance left a little something to be desired, but having a much more intimate setting for a tattoo convention was definitely a nice touch.

Jodi Caged-Up and Behind Bars

When Jodi came out here to visit us late last week to shoot content and hang-out with Sascha and the MyTattooGirls.com crew, I don't think she imagined that she'd be spending quite so much time locked-up.

We first put her into a jail cell, naked and deprived of sex, but we did give her bread and water. Then, when the freedom of being able to move around became a little too much of a comfort, we placed her into a smaller cage, which only seemed to bring out the wild woman in her.

MyTattooGirls Invades the East Coast

This is gonna be another long fucking weekend for MyTattooGirls and by the time it's all over, the East Coast will never be the same!

Everyone knows about MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, but if you're tattooed or pierced and not on InkedNation.com, you need to close-up your holes and take the next available appointment with Dr. Tattoff for some laser removal.

On its home page, InkedNation claims to be the "World's Largest Tattoo Community," and with good reason, as it offers the ultimate online meeting place for tattoo enthusiasts, artists and studios worldwide. Other sites cover smaller regions, including Tattoo.tv in Ireland and TattooInk.tv in Australia, but InkedNation spans the entire globe.

The profile pages are set-up almost exactly like MySpace in terms of information, with the layout slightly altered. There's two main sections to the profile, "About Me" and "About My Ink," allowing members to share their stories. You can also post photos with a little more leeway in terms of content than what MySpace and Facebook offer. It's also much easier to add music and creating a blog is just as simple as anywhere else. 

One of the advantages to InkedNation is that it gives its users the chance to post bulletins to either their entire friends list or just smaller groups within your network. That way, if you have an announcement to make to only artists, you're not getting replies from tattoo enthusiasts, and vice versa. Also, it's much easier to post photos and videos to your bulletins and blogs.

The messaging and comments, well, nothing really to comment there. Pretty basic stuff.

In addition to the usual social networking basics, there's also sections—all accessible through the home page—for Pics, Babes, Flash, Chat, Inked Cams, Music, Events, Classifieds and Dating. Also, all of the sidebar advertisements and links will lead you to other tattoo, piercing and body modification products, services, events and sites, so there's no risk of ending up playing any games trying to figure out who's high school yearbook photo you're looking at. Same thing goes for the News Feed located on each profile. All tattoo news, all the time.

So, while we could go on forever talking about how great InkedNation really is, it would probably be best for you to head there on your own and check it out for yourself.

MTG COMMENTARY:Beauty is In the Eye of Beholder,Especially When It Comes to Tattoos

Now, what I want to talk about today is not so much the article itself, but the reaction from its readers, most of whom at the time of this post considered the model's tattoos to be ugly. Personally, I love them. I think they're sexy. Girls like this are the very reason Sascha has the site, because he absolutely loves his tattooed girls!

Now, without going into a great debate over who's right and who's wrong, everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion, but when it comes to tattoos, there's just this certain group of haters that will always bash those of us with ink, calling us ugly, gross, hideous, weird and other derogatory names like that.

At the same time, do you hear people with full body suits calling the untatted people out there, myself included, "freaks" and "head cases"? Nope. Not at all. I don't have a single tattoo myself and get along perfectly fine with these "ugly tattooed freaks" that so many people want to bash.

For a good majority of those same people who talk about the looks of those with tattoos, would they ever in a million years talk shit about a person with a major birth defect or huge scars from an accident? God no and why? Because they couldn't help it. It wasn't something they chose to have on their body. People choose to get tattooed, not to get scarred.

Now, don't get me wrong for one second, I'm not saying I don't feel for those who have to suffer with burns and scars, because I do indeed care, but so fucking what if my girlfriend wants to go and get half of her body tattooed, pierced or modified in some other fashion?! It's not my place to say who should get what done to their body, and it's not my place to say that they're more beautiful or uglier because of their individual body mods.

Today's generation, both guys and girls, obviously love tattoos, even on the most feminine of women. Ask Kat Von D and the girls of L.A Ink and Miami Ink. Ask Any of the hundreds of women who have ever posed for Inked or any other tattoo magazine. Ask Joanna Angel. Ask any of the girls on the Suicide Girls, Burning Angel, God's Girls or MyTattooGirls websites.

There will forever be a special place in the heart of today's generation for the tattooed.

Personally, I love tattoos and more than likely you do, too, especially if you're reading this blog. If you don't like tattoos, then just don't get them for yourself. It's your body and your definition of what beauty is. To me, tattoos are sexy and that's all that matters. End of story.

Tabitha James

I've known the cute little Tabitha James for a few years now, ever since she was with my old agency, Number 1 Models.
